Broadway, Washington Avenue or Webster Avenue?

Name the specific street and send any address or listing link. If Revere Beach Parkway is part of your search, include the actual building entrance and daily destination. Chelsea is a separate city, not a Boston neighborhood.

Compare the home before moving toward an offer

Ask about its usable rooms, storage, laundry, entrance and parking. Compare an older building with a newer home by its condition and documents, rather than assuming one style is the better purchase. A street name is not evidence of a home offered there today.

Monthly costs and building rules

Compare the mortgage payment with taxes, insurance, any association charges and upkeep. Ask your lender about loan and closing costs and your tax adviser about your individual circumstances. Buying does not guarantee rising values or unrestricted changes to a unit.

Ask for the building rules and relevant ownership documents before planning renovations. Have your attorney and lender review the documents relevant to the purchase.
