The dates and the agreement

Ask for the proposed start and end dates, minimum stay, renewal terms and any early-departure conditions. If your assignment could be extended, ask how an extension would be handled. A short stay and a year-long furnished lease are different searches; neither is promised by this page.

What will be there when you arrive?

Check beds and mattress sizes, seating, dining space, a desk, kitchen equipment, linens and towels. Ask for current photos of the actual apartment and a written furnishings inventory. If you are bringing belongings, confirm available storage and what can be moved or removed.

What does the quoted price include?

Separate rent from electricity, heating, internet, parking and any other proposed charges. Ask for the full upfront payment schedule and whether any utility allowance has a limit. Compare the total stay cost, not just an advertised monthly figure.

Arrival, access and condition

Coordinate key collection and building move-in procedures before travel. Ask about stairs, elevators and any reservations required for moving. Record the apartment’s and furnishings’ condition at handover, and confirm who to contact for maintenance. Check your own insurance needs with your insurer.

Choose the location around your routine.

Use your work, hospital or campus address to compare actual trips. A shorter assignment may make an easy arrival and a manageable commute especially valuable; a longer stay may put more weight on storage, laundry and neighborhood errands. Tell our team which tradeoffs you can make.

Compare furnished rentals by area.

Choose the area you are considering, then tell our rental team your arrival and departure dates, budget and furniture needs. These guides help you compare apartment layouts and stay requirements; they are not a live availability list.
