James Court, not Harrison Court

James Court is the modern building at 45 East Newton Street within the jointly managed James and Harrison Court community. Harrison Court is the separate historic building on Harrison Avenue. The current floor-plan catalogue distinguishes them with JC and HC prefixes, which helps keep apartment features and addresses straight.

Current JC plans include one- and two-bedroom apartments. The original guide also described studios; ask whether that layout is offered at James Court rather than assuming a studio listed under HC is in this building. James Court features include quartz counters, stainless-steel appliances, light wood cabinets, plank flooring and central air conditioning.

  • Current JC catalogue: one- and two-bedroom plans
  • Common laundry on individual floors
  • Select built-in desk nooks, closets and courtyard views
  • Confirm apartment number and JC floor-plan designation

Shared amenities, distinct apartments

James and Harrison Court share a fitness center, private courtyard, resident lounge and game room. Conference rooms and business facilities offer workspace outside the apartment. Concierge service, a package system, bicycle storage, a pet park and a paw spa are also listed for the community.

Laundry is an important difference: James Court lists common facilities on individual floors, while Harrison Court lists in-unit washers and dryers. The shared website’s general apartment description should not override that building-specific distinction.

  • Shared courtyard, fitness and resident rooms
  • Conference rooms and workspaces
  • Concierge and package services
  • Garage parking and storage lockers offered
  • Pet-friendly community; confirm current conditions

South End

East Newton Street places James Court beside the Boston University medical campus and Boston Medical Center. Harrison Avenue, nearby neighborhood shops and South End restaurants help define the immediate setting. Confirm the entrance for your appointment rather than using the combined community’s Harrison Avenue contact address by default.

Include your move-in dates, budget and bedroom needs in your inquiry. Management currently lists heat, water, sewer and trash as included; request the complete apartment-specific costs and utility responsibilities before choosing a lease.
