Three Brookline buildings to compare.

Read the building guides below, then ask our team about the apartment and dates you need. These comparisons describe the properties; they are not a list of apartments currently available.

Longwood Towers

20 Chapel Street

Longwood Towers is a condominium property that also has rental homes. The condominium association lists concierge service, valet parking, a fitness center and a clubroom. The rental operator lists in-home laundry in its apartments, with balconies in selected homes. Ask who is offering the apartment, which features and amenities it includes, and what lease rules apply. Details for an operator-managed rental may differ from those for a privately owned condominium.

1443 Beacon

1443 Beacon Street

The rental operator lists concierge service, a fitness center, a community room, outdoor grilling areas, package lockers and underground parking. In-home laundry and balconies are available in selected apartments. If either is a requirement, ask about the actual home before arranging a visit. Confirm the floor plan, parking arrangements and any separate charges; an amenity listed for the community does not establish what comes with the apartment.

Dexter Park

175 Freeman Street

One-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans. The community lists on-site laundry, a fitness center, a theater room, a community room, concierge service and outdoor and garage parking. Ask where the laundry facilities are and how you would reach them from the apartment. The operator lists balconies among its apartment features; confirm whether the particular home has one and check its room dimensions, closets and windows.

Compare rent, parking and move-in costs.

Request a written quote for the apartment, your dates and lease length. Compare rent, required monthly charges, utilities and any parking, pet or amenity charges that apply to the home.

Keep one-time move-in costs separate. If a discount is offered, ask when payments are due and what rent applies after it ends. Confirm how you would move in, including elevator reservations if needed.

Check the apartment, commute and lease.

Your route from the building entrance

Check the stop, line and transfers from the entrance you would actually use. Longwood Towers is at Chapel Street, 1443 Beacon is on Beacon Street, and Dexter Park is on Freeman Street. Test the route to your exact work or campus address at the time you normally travel.

Laundry, room sizes and outdoor space

Request the actual floor plan and room dimensions. Confirm in-home or shared laundry, bedroom separation, closets and room for a desk or dining table. Ask whether a balcony belongs to the apartment, and whether the home faces the street, courtyard or another part of the property.

Access to shared amenities

Ask which gym, lounge and other facilities your lease includes. Confirm hours, guest rules and any reservations or charges. A building photograph may show a shared room or a different apartment; ask to see the home you would rent.

Parking, pets and lease terms

Confirm whether a parking space is available, how you reach it and its monthly cost. Ask which pet rules and charges apply to your apartment. If you need furniture or a shorter lease, include that in your inquiry rather than assuming the home comes furnished or permits the lease length you want.
