Berkeley’s proposed portfolio sales
The June 2015 article reported that Berkeley Investments was preparing to market several Fort Point properties. It named 12 Farnsworth Street, 381 Congress Street, 343 Congress Street and parking garages on Stillings and Farnsworth Streets. According to the company’s CFO as cited by the article, marketing was still in its early stages. This does not establish that those properties are for sale now.
For background, the source said Berkeley acquired 13 brick-and-beam warehouses, surface parking lots and two garages from Boston Wharf Co. for around $100 million in 2004. It reported a later sale of five buildings to National Development for approximately $74.2 million in 2007.
Other transactions in the report
The source said Equity Residential bought the 315 on A apartment development from Gerding Edlen for $130.3 million in April 2015. It also described January sales by DivcoWest: a Necco Street garage for $56 million and three neighborhood office buildings for $105.6 million.
The original article predicted continuing momentum in Fort Point. That was its outlook in 2015, not a verified forecast for the present market or a promise about investment returns.
