The refinancing described in June 2015
The original article reported that TIAA-CREF refinanced 51 Sleeper Street in Fort Point through a $33 million loan from New York Life Real Estate Investors, described as New York Life Insurance Company’s real estate equity and debt division. Citing Suffolk County property records, it said the mortgage closed on June 11.
The source described a 146,000-square-foot office property acquired by TIAA-CREF near the end of 2013 for $60.2 million. Its opening paragraph misspelled the street as Sleep Street; the title and later property description identify Sleeper Street. This archive uses that consistent name.
Historical tenants and limits
The article identified the United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimac Valley and the Massachusetts Executive Office of Education as tenants at the time. That is historical tenant information, not confirmation of today’s occupants, ownership or financing.
The original discussion presented the refinancing as a sign of investor interest in Fort Point. One reported financing transaction does not establish a current neighborhood trend or the terms available to another borrower.
