West End · Retail premises · Lease, buy or market
Looking for West End retail space to lease or buy? Tell our commercial team your business use, floor area, budget and target opening. Owners can also discuss a property they want to lease out or sell.
Amo Realty - Boston City Properties
This inquiry goes to our commercial team. It is not a lease application, reservation, financing approval or municipal permit request.
The West End is a Boston neighborhood, not a separate municipality. Verify the exact address and neighborhood for adjacent downtown examples. Housing, hospital facilities and a development announcement do not establish a particular commercial tenancy.
This is a commercial-property guide, not a live list of available units. Ask our team about a specific address or your search criteria.

Separate the leased shop or suite from whole-building area, upper housing and shared facilities. Check entrance, windows, signs, usable floor, loading, services and fit-out. A former tenant or medical-office description does not approve your proposed use.
Historical examples at 1 Emerson Place, 205 Portland Street and 117 Causeway Street contrasted tower commercial areas with older brick storefronts. They are not current offers. Separate the commercial suite from housing and whole-building totals; check windows, canopy and sign rights, services, customer entrance and storage.
The earlier 272 Friend Street, 141–147 Portland Street, 1 Longfellow Place and 72–78 Canal Street examples described shell space, corner units, offices and multi-floor premises. These are historical descriptions, not vacancies or proof of hospital-campus rights. Clarify the floor, entrances, shared facilities, fit-out and intended use.
The old guide also used 84 Joy Street. Verify the formal address and neighborhood before classifying it as West End stock. Older office and medical-space descriptions do not establish current layout, an available tenancy or approval for a new business.
The source discussed Government Center Garage redevelopment at 50 Sudbury Street and the Garden Garage proposal at 35 Lomasney Way. Their earlier quantities, uses and completion targets are historical reports, not proof of delivered units. The original garage-area figure was ambiguous; it should not determine a commercial unit’s floor area.
The earlier Hub on Causeway phase report mixed retail, offices, housing, hotel and entertainment uses. It also described Avalon North Station at 1 Nashua Street. These are historical development accounts, not current vacancies. Residential facilities and the source’s housing-sale language do not establish a shop’s rights or available commercial space.
Tell our team the exact address or area, use, size, budget, fit-out and timing. Ask about actual premises and appointments. The earlier “Uptown” marketing label is not a municipal rename, and this inquiry does not promise immediate tours, unreleased offers or a guaranteed return.
Request a written breakdown of base rent, taxes, insurance, utilities, maintenance and shared charges. Clarify annual versus monthly figures, rentable area, estimates and adjustments. Gross, net, modified and percentage lease labels do not replace the agreement or settle responsibility for larger repairs.
Compare financing, taxes, insurance, condition, repairs and opening work with the complete lease proposal. Retain money for stock and operations. Ownership does not guarantee appreciation, tax savings, fixed total costs or permission for alterations. Ask your lender about your actual business and property, not a universal credit-score or trading-history rule.
Ask about possession, deposits, building work, rent changes, renewal, assignment, subletting and exit conditions. Clarify who performs and pays for repairs. Leasing does not automatically provide free repairs or flexible relocation, and a fixed break-even rule does not decide whether buying suits your business.
Use the linked local resource as background, not approval for the premises. Ask the municipality about the actual business, signs and work. Nearby housing, employment and historic market statistics do not establish an available unit or expected shop sales.
Send our commercial team the address, current use, floor area, condition, occupancy, existing commitments and timing. We can discuss property information, pricing, marketing and negotiations. Include leases and actual income and expenses for an occupied property; do not rely on a generic return forecast or promise of a quick transaction.
Before you sign or start work
Discuss the property with our commercial team. Ask your attorney to review the agreement, your lender about financing and the municipality about the approvals for your business. A general location guide does not settle those property-specific questions.
Send the address or search area, business use, size, budget and timing.
