The home you are considering

Start with the particular condo.

Compare the particular condo, not just the building’s waterfront address or list of amenities. Check the outlook from the unit, its usable space and the charges attached to it before choosing homes to view.

Before choosing a condo

Compare the home and its written terms.

What does the purchase include?

Ask which parking, storage and outdoor spaces belong to the condo and which are shared or separately charged. Confirm access and any conditions in the property documents rather than relying on a building description.

Compare the monthly cost.

Request the association fee and what it covers. Ask about planned work and assessments, then discuss taxes, insurance, utilities and financing with the appropriate advisers. A larger amenity list does not tell you what this unit costs to own.

Visit the home and its surroundings.

Check the unit’s natural light, windows, layout and noise. Walk the route from the entrance to the places you use regularly, and check the parking arrangement in person if it matters to your decision.

Buying is different from renting.

A rental building guide is not a list of condos for sale. Our team can discuss purchase opportunities when you send your requirements; this guide does not confirm that a particular unit is currently offered.
