Off-campus apartments
near MIT.

MIT’s official visitor information identifies its main entrance at 77 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge. Tell us the classroom, lab or office where you need to arrive; a campus-wide address is only the starting point.

Talk with our rental team

Tell us about your
off-campus search.

Use your message to name MIT, the actual campus or class address, your monthly budget, bedrooms and move-in date. If you are sharing, include how many people will live in the home.

Add laundry, parking, pet, furnishing or access needs. If you have an apartment address or building in mind, send it so the team can discuss that home rather than a campus-wide promise.

This is an inquiry to Amo Realty - Boston City Properties, not a university housing office. It does not apply for a home, reserve an apartment or confirm university or landlord approval.

Kendall, Central or Cambridgeport?

The original guide discussed Cambridge squares and neighborhoods, including Kendall Square, Central Square, Riverside and Cambridgeport. Compare the complete trip from the apartment to your actual MIT building. Harvard Square and Porter Square are other searches, not the same campus location.

A Cambridge address does not settle the layout

Compare studios, lofts, shared apartments, rented condos and townhomes by their actual sleeping space, laundry and access. If you need a place to study or work, check the usable room dimensions rather than relying on a studio or loft label.

Campus identity and location checked October 4, 2026: MIT campus address and directions. These are campus references, not university endorsements of our brokerage or an apartment.

The apartment and your routine

Check the details
you will live with.

Send any second lab, work or class destination and your travel times. Check the return trip as well as the outward journey. Ask about the home’s actual rent, lease dates, utilities, parking and any advertised facilities; a campus description does not establish the lease offer.

The full rental quote

Ask for rent, lease start and end dates, utilities, recurring charges and payments due before moving in. Check the actual bedrooms, shared space and written lease requirements rather than relying on an old advertised price.

Thinking about buying a condo?

Talk with our buying team about your purchase budget, timing and intended use. Ask about condominium rules, costs and any future rental restrictions. Buying does not guarantee investment returns or a tenant after graduation.
