A plan overlooking Boston Common
In March 2020, Boston City Properties reported plans for two Guy Fieri-branded restaurants at 186 Tremont Street. The proposed location was the ground floor of the Grand Masonic Lodge overlooking Boston Common.
Big Night Entertainment, identified as the long-term lessee, was partnering with Fieri on Boston Kitchen + Bar and Chicken Guy! The account concerns that announced restaurant plan, rather than today’s opening hours or reservations.
Two different dining formats
Boston Kitchen + Bar was described as an American-menu restaurant with wings, burgers, shareable dishes and small bites, alongside craft beer and cocktails. Chicken Guy! was described as a fast-casual concept centered on chicken tenders, sandwiches and 22 house-made sauces.
The different formats mattered to the proposed use of the Tremont Street space: one emphasized a bar-and-dining experience, while the other emphasized a shorter, counter-service meal.
Other partnerships in the background
The report also discussed Tequila Cocina at the Hub on Causeway near TD Garden and Guy’s Foxwoods Kitchen + Bar in Connecticut. Those were separate locations, not additional restaurants within the Tremont Street premises.
