A neighborhood roundup, not one development
The October 2017 archive gathered a range of East Boston proposals. Suffolk Downs appeared in the Amazon headquarters discussion, while smaller residential and waterfront projects had their own sites, sponsors and review stages.
An Everett Street proposal concerned a street in East Boston, not the separate municipality of Everett. Its reported condominium and parking program should not be used to identify a project in another city.
Orleans Street and McClellan Highway
At 114 Orleans Street, the account described 23 proposed condominiums, including three affordable homes, with parking in a five-story plan. A separate project at 31 Orleans Street involved 14 residences in a four-story building.
The roundup also discussed 175 McClellan Highway, a former car-rental site with a proposal for roughly 300 apartments and retail. Approval, a groundbreaking and an anticipated future building were different milestones across these sites.
Sumner Street, Border Street and the waterfront
At 245 Sumner Street, the archive described 34 residences with retail and parking. The Hodge Boiler Works proposal at 99 Sumner Street involved 119 condominiums, commercial or shared-work space, a courtyard and a Harborwalk segment.
Another plan at 301 Border Street called for 64 homes. Maverick Shipyard was a separate 23-home proposal. Their affordable-unit, parking and bicycle provisions belonged to their own projects rather than one combined neighborhood inventory.
Clippership Wharf and Boston East
Clippership Wharf was discussed as a phased waterfront development with both condominiums and rentals. Boston East was described separately as a 200-apartment project, including affordable and artist live-work homes, with an anticipated late-2017 opening.
These references preserve the breadth of the 2017 roundup. They do not establish current inventory, completed amenities, eligibility or later operating names. Each site’s plan had its own scope and review history.
