An announcement without a named address
In March 2020, Boston City Properties covered an announcement that Margaritaville planned to open a Boston restaurant that summer. The article cited a March 5 Facebook post by the hospitality brand inspired by Jimmy Buffett’s song.
The location was not identified in the account. Speculation about a possible Seaport or other Boston site was therefore not a signed lease, a confirmed address or evidence of an open restaurant.
A hospitality expansion story
The brief recalled the brand’s Key West beginnings and its wider restaurant and hotel presence. It also placed the announcement alongside interest in celebrity-associated restaurants in Greater Boston, including Guy Fieri’s Hub on Causeway location.
The anticipated summer opening belonged to the announcement, not a verified completion date. Without a named address, the announcement did not establish which neighborhood would receive the restaurant or whether the proposed opening would occur on that schedule.
