An expansion proposed in Brookline
An earlier Boston City Properties report described plans to expand Coolidge Corner Theater in the town of Brookline. It said the theater had reached 85% of a capital-campaign goal and hoped to add more than 14,000 square feet while retaining original Art Deco features.
The account connected the landmark with 1933 and described pandemic-era virtual programming, outdoor screenings and interior work. Those activities provided context for the expansion campaign.
Entrances, screens and shared space
The reported design moved the main entrance toward the Centre Street parking lot, with a glass lobby and an overhang for people waiting outside. Two new screening rooms were described with 57 and 150 seats, bringing the proposed screen total to six.
A 60-seat education and engagement center, catering kitchen and rooftop deck were also proposed for meetings and events. They complemented the two additional screening rooms within the planned six-screen arrangement.
The earlier timetable and an actual location inquiry
The article named Groom Construction of Salem and discussed higher construction costs, steel erection in September and hoped-for completion in August 2022. That was an earlier schedule, not a present delivery or operating record.
If this setting matters to a Brookline home or business request, describe the address and route you would use. Confirm current venue information separately and ask about the property’s own features, services and arrangements.
