The acquisition described in August 2023
The Boston City Properties report dated August 12, 2023 described Chicago-based Mesirow’s acquisition of Alta Revolution from Wood Partners. The apartment property was identified at the corner of Revolution Drive and Grand Union Boulevard in Somerville’s Assembly Square area.
The account described an eight-story, 344,000-square-foot property with 329 homes: 324 flats and five direct-entry townhomes. It separately reported $104 million in acquisition funding provided through Walker & Dunlop. Financing for the transaction should not be mistaken for a stated purchase price.
Homes, retail and shared spaces
The earlier description included 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and a parking garage with 188 spaces. Inside the residential property, it listed a fitness center, game room, work pods, a community kitchen and recording studios with sound booths.
The reported outdoor and pet-related facilities included a courtyard, swimming pool, hot tub, fire pits, dining areas, pet spa and indoor park. Those descriptions record how the property was presented in 2023; they do not verify a particular unit’s current access, fees or pet rules. The report also identified 66 income-restricted apartments, without establishing current eligibility or application availability.
Assembly Square’s wider development context
The acquisition followed the 2022 Assembly Square Neighborhood Plan, which the source associated with housing, safer roads and economic development. It also discussed Assembly Row retail additions and nearby life-science projects, including Assembly Innovation Park and 74M on Middlesex Avenue.
These surrounding projects help explain why the article connected housing with workplaces and transit. Its predictions about investment demand and future delivery were historical interpretations. Current rental costs, ownership plans and nearby project status require their own property-specific information.
