Moving to Boston
Boston City Services, Transit and Utility Links
Use these official resources to plan your move and find local service information. Check your actual address and municipality before arranging utilities or looking up a collection schedule.
City of Boston
Visit Boston.gov for City services and information. If the home is outside Boston, use the website for that municipality rather than assuming Boston services apply to the address.
Trash and recycling
The City’s trash and recycling guide links to collection schedules and information about materials and special pickups. For an apartment or condominium, ask how the building handles waste collection as well as checking the City information.
Public transit: MBTA
Use the official MBTA website for routes, schedules and service information. Compare the property address with the places you need to reach, and check the service information again before traveling.
Electric service: Eversource
Check the provider for the specific property before arranging electric service. Eversource’s residential website is a starting point for its service and customer information; selecting the correct location helps you find information for your area.
Gas service: National Grid
National Grid’s Massachusetts gas website provides customer and moving information. Confirm which company serves the property and whether gas is billed to you separately before starting an account. A link here does not establish that a company serves every Boston-area address.
Questions about the home itself?
For help choosing an apartment or buying a home, contact Amo Realty through the appropriate real estate section. Utility billing, service appointments and City-service requests go to the relevant provider or agency, not the brokerage inquiry.
