The original Boston City Properties article followed construction of the park and bicycle pavilion at 6 Stack Street in Charlestown’s Hood Park. It described landscaping, bicycle facilities, retail space and a roof deck. This address was a public-space and pavilion project, not the campus’s apartment building.
The park and pavilion described during construction
The story described a sloping lawn leading to a deck above the pavilion, with planting and gathering space around the Hood Milk stack. It reported a roughly 3,900-square-foot structure and a retail area intended for a possible bicycle shop. The city’s 6 Stack Street project record lists 3,912 square feet of gross floor area.
The original article also discussed bicycle storage, showers, restrooms and a setting for small performances. Its proposed storage capacity and opening forecast are not a promise about current access, hours or services.
How the architects describe the design
Elkus Manfredi Architects’ project account describes a wood-clad bicycle pavilion built into a tilted landscape. It identifies bike racks, a repair shop, lockers, restrooms and showers, with a seating area called The Perch above the pavilion. The raised landscape was designed to buffer the adjacent elevated highway and industrial uses.
These details explain the project’s design, not a residential amenity package. Renting an apartment elsewhere at Hood Park does not automatically establish what services are included at 6 Stack Street.
A dated update beyond the construction story
Hood Park’s May 20, 2022 announcement described the pavilion as newly built and advertised a summer beer-garden program at 6 Stack Street. That dated announcement shows the story progressed beyond the construction stage; it is not a listing of events happening now.
The original BCP article anticipated an opening by the end of its reporting year without supplying an exact publication date. It also forecast a wider Hood Park buildout through 2027. Neither estimate is presented here as a verified current deadline.
Where this fits within Hood Park
The article placed the pavilion within the former dairy campus’s phased redevelopment, alongside office and laboratory projects at 10 Stack Street and 100 Hood Park Drive. It separately mentioned The Harvey apartments. A park, an office building and an apartment community serve different purposes and should not be treated as interchangeable addresses.
For a housing search, start with the Charlestown building directory. Compare the actual building and apartment, including your route to transit, lease costs and features included with that home.
For the apartment community mentioned in this story, see The Harvey apartment guide. The linked building guide does not show live availability.
