The residential proposal

A December 2015 article reported that New Balance Development Group and HYM Investment Group had filed plans with the Boston Redevelopment Authority for 295 apartments at 125 Guest Street in Brighton. The proposal combined a six-story portion along Guest Street with a 17-story portion along the Hichborn Street extension.

Approximately 16,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space was planned. The site formed part of the approximately 15-acre Boston Landing development near the Massachusetts Turnpike.

The surrounding development

The account described New Balance’s approximately 250,000-square-foot headquarters as having relocated to Boston Landing. A hotel and an MBTA commuter-rail stop were among the surrounding plans. The former B.L. Makepeace architectural and engineering supply building had reportedly been demolished in 2014.

The 2015 proposal does not independently establish a later apartment building’s identity, present amenities or inventory. Its location and unit count should not be used alone to assign a subsequent brand name.

Historical account attributed to the original Boston City Properties article. Underlying records and later outcomes have not been freshly verified.
