A Medford office for the Everett proposal

The June 2015 Boston City Properties article reported that Wynn Resorts opened more than 7,600 square feet of office space at Station Landing in Medford’s Wellington Circle area. It described the office as the planning base for a proposed $1.6 billion hotel and gaming development along the Mystic River in Everett.

According to Wynn statements cited in the article, the office was expected to house more than 50 employees working on the development. Medford was the office location; Everett was the resort site. They should not be treated as the same property or municipality.

Land purchases and plans reported at the time

The source said Wynn acquired the former Monsanto Chemical Plant site for $34 million in January 2015 and acquired 1.75 acres of former MBTA land in March to provide an entrance. It described plans for a 600-room hotel and gaming facility.

The article characterized the development as being in its early stages and predicted further hotel, retail and commercial activity in Everett. This archive preserves those historical plans, not confirmation of the final development, its opening date or the forecast’s outcome.
