A major Seaport construction announcement
The October 2017 archive reported the groundbreaking for Cottonwood’s Echelon Seaport development. The project was described as a roughly $900 million undertaking across about 3.5 acres, with three residential towers and ground-floor commercial space.
Its planned residential program totaled 733 homes: 448 condominiums and 285 rental apartments. The purchase and rental components were distinct; a condominium sales program did not describe every residence in the development.
Retail, a plaza and residential design
The account discussed about 125,000 square feet of retail and a public plaza. WS Development, John Moriarty & Associates and the Collaborative Companies were among the organizations identified in the development and sales context.
The design discussion included an outdoor piazza, terraces, a bridge and pools, with architecture intended to draw partly on Back Bay townhouses. The article’s differing total floor-area references should not be read as one final measured building area.
Expected delivery was not a completed outcome
The archive anticipated residential delivery in 2019 and later completion milestones. It also compared the proposal with other waterfront projects, including Pier 4, whose homes and asking prices were separate examples.
The report preserves the groundbreaking and proposed program as understood in 2017. It does not confirm current inventory, final amenities, operating brands or a completed unit’s features, and it does not merge the development’s different ownership and rental buildings into one offered property.
