Chapters

A November 2017 Boston City Properties article reported the sale of the 148-home Colonial Village apartment community in Methuen for $23.3 million, or approximately $157,000 per home. It also described Prides Crossing Condominiums and Riverside Apartments as other Methuen housing examples.

Colonial Village in the original report

The article described six three-story garden-style buildings constructed in the 1970s, plus a townhouse building and clubhouse built in 2006. It counted 77 one-bedroom apartments, 67 two-bedroom apartments and four two-bedroom townhouses, with an average home size of about 816 square feet.

Reported apartment features included kitchens with a range, refrigerator and microwave, air conditioning, and a patio or balcony. The article described laundry in each building and free parking. Shared amenities were listed as a pool, tennis court, fitness center, game room, picnic area, clubhouse and business center.

The original description said pets were welcome and management and maintenance were on site. It did not provide today's animal restrictions, fees, parking terms, amenity access or available homes. Ask the rental team about the requirements that matter to your move.

Prides Crossing Condominiums

The article placed Prides Crossing at 1 Riverview Boulevard beside the Merrimack River. It described late-20th-century townhouses and garden-style condos with two or three bedrooms, one or two bathrooms, and sizes from 1,224 to more than 1,400 square feet.

Its interior description included first-floor carpeting, a living room opening onto a deck or balcony, a kitchen partly separated by a wall with a cutout, white appliances and a nearby laundry area. Upper levels were described as carpeted apart from tiled bathrooms, with large bedroom windows overlooking a yard or garden. These descriptions do not establish the condition or layout of a particular condo today.

The report also mentioned outdoor common areas, a pool and three nearby commercial tenants, including a private investigator. It did not identify those tenants or establish their current presence.

Riverside Apartments

The original article described a Methuen brick building with carpeted studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments. It reported heat, hot water and garbage disposal as included in rent, plus building laundry and off-street parking. Confirm present lease terms and parking details for any home you are considering.
