The property in the earlier offering
An earlier Boston City Properties account described 25–29 Beach Street in Chinatown as a six-story brick office building dating from 1920, with a basement and approximately 28,784 square feet. It described a 4,122-square-foot parcel with Beach Street frontage, formerly used for a ground-floor restaurant and offices above.
The account described the building as vacant and marketed for redevelopment at that time. Its restaurant and office history provided the starting point for several alternative studies.
Different studies were alternatives
Two preliminary hotel studies considered a 14-story concept with 105 guestrooms and another reaching 27 stories. A narrow residential tower with smaller units was another redevelopment idea.
Retail and offices following the earlier arrangement, or laboratory and research space, were other ideas. Each involved different floor, services, structural and planning questions.
Investigating a development property
For a development-property inquiry, identify the site, intended housing or business use, purchase budget and timing. Ask about existing condition, access, services, neighboring structures and the documents needed for design, legal and planning review.
Ask Amo Realty - Boston City Properties about current site information and proposed arrangements. Have design, use, condition and financial questions investigated for the actual property.
