Housing, hotel and retail plans
A December 2015 article reported that Related Beal expected to begin construction the following month on Parcel 1B in the Bulfinch Triangle, across from TD Garden. The account described a 99-year lease with the Commonwealth and reported that financing had been arranged.
Plans called for 239 apartments, a 220-room hotel and retail space. Most apartments were expected to have one or two bedrooms, with approximately 10% planned as three-bedroom homes.
The historical income categories
The proposal described apartments for Boston residents with incomes between 30% and 165% of area median income. These were reported features of the development plan, not current eligibility rules or an available application. The article did not establish a final completion date, and its anticipated January 2016 start should not be confused with a verified construction outcome.
