A July 2015 Boston City Properties article reported that Pirtek USA, described as an Australian hydraulic-hose repair and supply business, planned 10 to 12 additional franchise locations in metropolitan Boston over the following years. The source identified one existing location in Avon, operating for more than seven years, and a second location north of Boston proposed for the end of 2015. It did not identify that proposed address.
The article described a network of more than 400 locations in 23 countries, including 52 in the United States at that time. It also reported a broader expansion goal of one location per month in metropolitan areas with populations of at least 500,000. These were the reported plans and network figures in 2015; this archive does not confirm how many locations opened.
Industrial premises described in the report
The source said stores generally used 3,000 to 5,000 square feet and expected new locations near other industrial-supply businesses. It discussed the business-to-business franchise model and access to financing as reasons for expansion. Those statements were the original article’s explanation, not evidence of current franchise availability, financing approval or returns.
