The three hotels in the report
The article counted 251 rooms at the VERVE-Crowne Plaza and 188 at the Hampton Inn, both in Natick, plus 184 at the Somerville Holiday Inn. It placed the Natick hotels near the Natick Mall, which it described as 1.66 million square feet and about 20 miles west of downtown Boston.
For the Somerville hotel, the report gave approximate distances of four miles from downtown Boston and less than five miles from Fenway Park, the State House, Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, Hynes Convention Center and New England Aquarium. Those historical distance descriptions are not a current travel-time estimate.
Meeting space and guest facilities described in 2017
The VERVE-Crowne Plaza was described as having ten meeting rooms totaling 17,000 square feet, with capacity for 400 in its largest room. The article discussed its Sleep Advantage program: quiet-zone restrictions on housekeeping and engineering work from 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, bedding and aromatherapy kits, and around-the-clock meal service. These were reported services, not promises for a booking today.
The Hampton Inn description included ten meeting rooms totaling 8,500 square feet, Wi-Fi, audiovisual equipment and catering. The original article also characterized the hotel as environmentally friendly; it did not supply a certification or supporting measurement.
The nine-floor Holiday Inn was described as smoke-free, with complimentary parking large enough for buses and tractor trailers, internet access, refrigerators, Keurig coffee makers and 47-inch televisions. Reported shared facilities included a heated indoor pool, basketball court, table tennis, weekend movies, and 24-hour fitness-room and business-center access.
