Recent Housing and Rental Market News

One of the upcoming projects in the area will be at 24 School Street. This property is currently in the permitting process. It will ultimately be redesigned as 12 townhouse rentals. At least 25 percent of the finished townhomes will be designated as affordable housing. Another affordable housing project is in the works at Mahoney's Garden Center.

Last year, the community finally reached a deal for the former municipal septage facility located on Route 20. The 8.24-acre site was purchased to create the River's Edge complex. Placed at 484 to 490 Boston Post Road, this complex includes 188 units. At least 25 percent of the units will be devoted to the age-restricted housing. The property was purchased for about $8 million by the new developers. Before the new complex can be built, the old facility has to be demolished and water systems have to be constructed.
