Real Estate News

One of the latest projects in the area is at the former Westboro State Hospital. The town sold 38 acres to a housing development company. The company is in the process of creating 700 housing units. These units are expressly designed for individuals 55 and older. Pulte Homes eventually won the bid for the property with a price of $7 million.

Originally, the town bought the 95-acre property in 2014 for $2.2 from the state. It was purchased using a zero-interest loan. Two years ago, they sold the land to Pulte Homes. About 45 percent of the proceeds will go to the state, and the rest of the money will go to the town. Only a portion of the land was sold for the housing complex. The proceeds of the sale will help transform the remaining land into soccer fields and a waterfront area.
