West Square is South Boston’s Favorite Full-Service Apartment Community

West Square is a development in the South Boston neighborhood, just nearby the famous Seaport District. The plan for this property was proposed back in 2011, and it was later approved after two years. It followed the groundbreaking ceremony to welcome the construction phase of the development officially.

The building was completed in 2014, and it houses residential apartments that are some of the most luxurious in the city of Boston. The structure is unique and suitable for people with pets. It also offers convenient amenities that will make city living more enjoyable. From a fitness center to an entertainment lounge to a yoga studio and even a pet spa, these amenities are all available at no additional cost.

The development was warmly welcomed by the locals in the area, although there were a few problems before its approval and construction stages. Today, the building is one of the great residential apartments in the neighborhood, which is why it was wholly leased within just a few months after it announced it was looking for new residents.

The fitness center, along with the other amenities in the building, such as the entertainment lounge with a fireplace, the pet spa, coffee bar, and the yoga studio, can be accessed by the residents without additional fees. These facilities are also open 24 hours a day, so you can pick the time that is most convenient for you. Parking is also not a problem because this property offers garage spaces on all the floors of the apartments.

If you are staying here during the summer season, you can relax at the private courtyards in the building. There are two on the property, and you can even invite your family and friends over to grill. Privacy will not be a concern here, as well as security.

Meanwhile, those who need to get to the city at the shortest possible time, they can access the Broadway T stop, which allows direct transfer to Downtown Boston. The distance from the development to the station is just 10 minutes on foot. North and south areas are covered by the Broadway T stop, so you can be sure that you can get to where you need to be in no time.

A short walk in the other direction will lead you to the beautiful Seaport District. It is where you can find entertainment and dining options right on the famed Boston Harbor.

If you are feeling like transporting yourself out of the city, you can easily access highways 90 and 93 from the apartment building. The neighborhood is just nearby the M Street Beach, which will make you feel just how vibrant South Boston is with shops, bars, and restaurants scattered all over the area.

The apartment is precisely located at 320 D Street in South Boston. There are 255 units in the building, and all of them are 100% smoke-free. All the residents can bring their pets with them, but there are some restrictions imposed on the breed of the animal, particularly the dogs. You can take a maximum of two dogs or two cats in the vicinity. As mentioned, there is a pet spa where you can pamper the animals.

One bedroom units start from $2,659 and the most expensive costs $3,750 per month. Meanwhile, if you are interested in renting a two-bedroom apartment, you will have to be prepared to pay $3,665 per month up to $5,500 depending on the unit you plan on leasing.

All the units come with quartz countertops for the kitchens, and the design is inspired by world-famous chefs. There are also floor-to-ceiling windows that will let ample natural light into the living space. In the bathroom, you will find lovely soaking tubs. Side plank floors, along with glass backsplashes are used to make the unit more appealing. There are also Juliette balconies in some units as well as walk-in closets. Each apartment comes with its own washer or dryer.

When you get out of the building, you will find yourself near several vital spots in Boston, thanks to the MBTA Red Line subway. It connects you to Downtown Boston, the city of Cambridge where you will find the Massachusetts Information Technology and Harvard University. It also allows you to get fast transfers to the University of Massachusetts.

The ideal location is indeed attractive for families, young professionals, and even students. The building provides easy and quick access to restaurants, nightlife, shopping, and outdoor recreation by merely walking a few steps around the neighborhood.

The development offers a range of units starting with a studio apartment that has one bathroom and measures 550 square feet. The most expansive studio unit measures 586 square feet, and you can get these units starting from $2,400 to $3,100.

Other features of the building include disability and controlled access. There are elevators onsite, as well as concierge services and onsite management 24/7. The residents can use different appliances that are provided for them, including a microwave oven, air conditioning units, WiFi, refrigerator, washer, dishwasher, and garbage disposal.

As mentioned, there were no problems with the development except its parking space. According to the city, particularly the Boston Redevelopment Authority, the project would only be approved if the parking ratio were changed. The suggestion was to have one space for parking per unit. The original proposal involved 259 apartments instead of the 255 today. The parking spaces that were proposed during that time were only 143.

The residents were not happy because the parking ratio was less than 0.6 spaces for every unit in the building. The lack of parking would merely add to the problem that the neighborhood was trying to solve at that specific period. The reason for the lower number of parking spaces was due to financial constraints. However, the developers found a way to extend the budget, and that was when the project eventually pushed through.

The city officials accepted the development, and soon enough, the construction phase started. Today, the building is one of the residential apartments in the South Boston neighborhood that proudly stands alongside the other properties in the area.
