Description

This upcoming Jamaica Plain apartment development is already generating major buzz. Construction began on Serenity in October 2015, even though the project was approved by the city way back in the spring of 2013. Right now, it is estimated that units will be available beginning in June 2017, but that could very well change. Therefore, be sure to stay tuned to Boston City Properties for the latest information regarding this development and others throughout the Boston area. When the time comes, we can help you find the perfect apartment home.

This development is expected to rise 13 stories high. However, it is expected to include a couple of buildings, and some of them won't be as tall. Ultimately, it will offer 195 luxury apartments, including studios as well as one-, two- and three-bedroom units. No information regarding the sizes of these units has been made available yet, but they will likely be quite sprawling and will almost certainly have open floor plans that make it easy for residents to customize them to suit their needs.

One of the most interesting pieces of information that have emerged about this development is that it will feature a "see-through," or glass, lobby. Without a doubt, this will give visitors a lovely first impression and will make residents proud to call the place home.

Plans also call for more than 2,100 square feet of retail space to be included in this development, so it will be a bit of a mixed-use building. Chances are that the space will include shops, cafes and restaurants.

The developer has released some information about the kinds of amenities that will be offered. They include a 24-hour concierge, an HDTV lounge and underground garage parking. There will be a large fitness center with state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment. A large courtyard with water features and a children's play area is sure to be a big hit with singles and families alike. A swimming pool and sundeck will also be located on the premises.

Needless to say, Serenity in Jamaica Plain is poised to be one of the hottest apartment developments in the area. By the time it opens in mid-2017, many apartments will likely be filled quickly. To ensure that you get one that's right for you, stick with Boston City Properties. We will keep you up-to-date regarding this development. For more information, give us a call.

The Serenity Apartments: Will This Building Live Up to Its Name?

There is a reason why this particular property is called “Serenity.” Located at 105A South Huntington Avenue in the neighborhood of Jamaica Plain, the tower had a long history, mainly because it was approved in June 2013 and its construction phase only began in 2015. Typically, after the city’s approval, the developers would start the building process. However, this one took two years just to break ground.

Some budget constraints are to be blamed for the delay, but the residents agree that the outcome is definitely worth the wait. The tower rises with 13 stories and houses almost 200 apartments (195 to be exact). It stands in a one-acre lot of land, and the developer has chosen to provide only luxury units in this building.

Initially, a total of 32 units were supposed to be affordable. However, some changes were made, and these units are no longer present in the tower. Instead, they are scattered in another project in Jamaica Plain and in Mission Hill, which are parts of building a complex.

The developer is proud to present the apartments as best in class and truly breathtaking. The residences are on top of the Leverett Pond and the Olmsted Park. Living in this area means that you are at the center of Jamaica Plain where you can access several destinations, including Longwood Medical Area as well as the Whole Foods Market.

It is also easy to reach the Heath Street T and the Brookline Village where there are shopping and dining opportunities.

The Tower for Longwood Medical

After spending a lot of time waiting for the right moment to begin constructions, the workers and the students of Longwood Medical Area finally found a place where they can stay. The 195-unit apartment overlooks the famous Olmsted Park and is just a few minutes from the healthcare epicenter of Boston. In 2016, the site was still under construction and the top off at that time was planned for the summer season.

The building may be appropriately named because many are convinced it is indeed a more peaceful option than the Fenway area, which is quickly growing and becoming more crowded each day. According to the Longwood Group, they considered Fenway since the neighborhood is an excellent choice for them due to the ideal location.

However, whenever there is a baseball game, it can be quite hectic, and the people who work at the Longwood Medical Area do not want that sort of disturbance. About 60,000 people come in and out of Fenway when baseball teams are playing. The grad students, nurses, doctors, students, and their professors searched for a better place where they think is much quieter than Fenway.

This is where they found the apartments in South Huntington, which they believe to be a soothing setting that provides them with easy access to the downtown area of Boston. Although the building is surrounded by trees, those greens do no hinder the views of Olmsted Park. Instead, they aid in keeping the apartment community shaded and windy. The building also offers even more great views thanks to the glass-walled lobby. The ceilings are indeed very high with most of them reaching 24 feet. There is also a fireplace, which can make the whole place homey.

The sixth floor of the building has a green roof and space where the tenants can gather together around a pool. There is also another fireplace in this part of the building along with a barbecue deck. It is indeed an excellent place to get together, especially after a long day of working or studying.

The apartment community also offers a billiard room for those who are into that sport. Those who are interested in keeping their bodies in shape can run to the gym, which is mostly open throughout the day. There is a courtyard as well, which is right on the third floor of the building. It is a secluded spot and has a Lawn on D-style entertainment, which is an excellent way to stay social while on the property.

There is also a 24-hour concierge that will take care of different requests from the residents, including restaurant reservations. Those who may require other services from various companies, such as dry cleaning, only have to reach out to the concierge and the professionals will help make everything more convenient. The residents do not have to do much because onsite management company, as well as a maintenance group, is always ready to assist no matter what time of the day it is.

The units are finished in earth tones, which are described to be soothing. It is one of the reasons why this place is given its name since it exudes peace whenever anyone is in the building or the unit itself. All the apartments are stocked with washers and dryers so that the residents do not have to go out of the building to have their clothes washed.

In the lower levels of the property, the residents can visit the zip car station, which will provide them with an easy escape. For those who prefer to go biking instead of riding a car, there is bike storage in the area where the bicycles are kept, maintained, and even repaired. Without a doubt, this apartment building has all the conveniences that the residents are looking for, even those who are quite demanding.

The Tower For Everyone

The apartments are not just for the Longwood Medical Group. There are also units that are specifically designed for families, including the growing ones. Roughly 30 units in the lower rise part of the building that provides views of the Olmsted Park are ideal for families and those that plan to have more members in their unit. There are three bedroom units in the tower that provide around 1,300 square feet of space, and they cost $6,000 monthly. As for the tower studios, they are much smaller with just 500 square feet of space. They are more affordable with $2,600 monthly rental.

The building is also pet-friendly with just a few restrictions on dog breeds and sizes. All cats are accepted along with some specific small and large dogs. Parking is also available in the detached garage. Most of the amnesties in this property are available 24 hours a day.
