There is no MBTA Commuter Rail line located in town; the nearest station is in Newburyport, which is approximately 2.4 miles away on the other side of the Merrimack River. However, bus service throughout the area is provided by the Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority.

Plots of commercially zoned land do occasionally come up for sale or lease, such as the property at 40 Lafayette Road. With 0.76 acres, the land is located on the edge of downtown right off Route 1, and has flagged wetland areas.
