Revere rentals

Revere is a city in Suffolk County that sits about five miles from the capital city's downtown area. This city, which is home to over 50,000 people, was named for Paul Revere, perhaps one of the most recognized names of the Revolutionary War era. Revere was settled in 1630 and incorporated in 1871.

The city was the site of the country's oldest public beach, Revere Beach, and since its beginnings it was commonly known as "the people's beach" because it drew in many area working class visitors. There were once a wide array of attractions in this region of Revere, among them being the Cyclone, which was one of the biggest roller coasters in the country during its time. Roller skating rinks, bowling alleys and ballrooms also graced the grounds of this former local hot spot. The beach area evolved into what eventually became a stretch of bars and empty buildings by the 1970s, and a blizzard the swept the beach in 1978 leveled much of what remained of the amusements and businesses that were mainstays during the beach's heyday. Interest in revitalizing the beach surged in the 1980s, with the city teaming up with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation to reopen a new and improved Revere Beach in the early 1990s. These days the beach is re-sanded, and hosts high-rise apartment buildings and a updated boulevard. Revere Beach is now a National Historic Landmark.

Revere is a great place to live for commuters due to its trio of stops on the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Blue Line, and its relatively low crime rates and refurbished public school buildings are also a big draw for this community.
