Suffolk Downs Real Estate & Condo Update 2024
HYM Investment Group has announced the the opening of the Yard @ Beachmont Square and The Dog Park @ The Yard.
The Dog Park @ The Yard are ideally located just next to Amaya, which is famously known as Suffolks Downs’ first residential building. What makes the space a great chill out spot is that it is open to community members and the general public. This makes it a great spot to socialize and get to the neighborhood and the community better.
Just like with many communal spaces The Yard at 10 Suffolk Downs Boulevard in Revere will have many uses from hosting HYM sponsored events, resident programming for Amaya and a gathering space for members of the community. To fully launch The Yard and get residents, and visitors acclimated with the space HYM is planning a series of events and programs starting in Spring. Some of the planned activities include, music events, outdoor fitness series and a place for your furry friends to roam about and so much more. With a trove of activities to engage in this space will be an ideal gathering spot for residents and visitors alike.
With so many interesting architectural marvels in the area The Yard looks to reflect the same interesting design. The space will have a combination of turf and stone dust area making it well suited for active and passive activities. As previously mentioned The Yard also contains a designated space for your furry friends with The Dog Park @ The Yard. Just like The Yard the park will be accessible to the general public. Even more interesting is that The Dog Park will have a park for small dogs and large dogs so you don't have to worry about your Chihuahua getting chased down by a Great Dane (or vice versa). With trash receptacles installed at short intervals and plastic bags provided by the park you can relax and enjoy the park while your furry friend plays around and still keep the space neat and tidy.
With the festive season just around the corner Suffolk Downs plans to open the space with two Pop-Up Holiday Tree Markets. To this effect the organizers of the opening ceremony have partnered with Christmas Tree For Me. Sales are expected to begin from 12pm to 3pm. Even though it has not yet been decided if this will be an ongoing tradition at The Yard, the space will make it easier and more convenient for members of the community to prepare for the holidays. Other than Christmas trees other decor items that you can expect are tree skirts, stands, wreaths and lights making it the ideal stop for all your decor needs. A wide variety of payment options will be accepted from Venmo, Cash, Credit cards and even smartphone payments.
One of the most notable uses of this communal space is hosting the Annual Toy Drive at the Holiday Tree Markets. In partnership with the Revere Police Department Suffolks Downs plans to hold this charitable event to provide gifts to the less fortunate. The toy drive which happens year-after-year will be held at The Yard. Participating is easy, members of the community and other willing participants can bring brand new unwrapped toys and donate them to the drive by placing them in donation bins that will be available during the Holiday Tree Market.
What The Space Means for Suffolk Downs
Most development companies are usually fixated on the profits, rarely considering the community aspect of their establishments. The approach taken by HYM in Suffolk Downs provides a better and alternative route to development where the social aspect of residence is considered. As the managing partner of the firm highlights, the space will provide a place for people to gather, socialize and enjoy the neighborhood. By creatively utilizing open spaces for community enjoyment developers can create a lively space where people can relax, connect and celebrate what the Suffolk Downs community has to offer. Apartments and condos nearby will benefit from the beauty of the park.
Other than being an ideal spot to socialize, The Yard is also expected to be a major hub for seasonal events. Currently several festive events have been earmarked to be held at the venue. As such the space will not only improve the social aspect of Suffolks Downs but also the commercial prospects of the area. According to the mayor of Revere, Patrick M. Keefe the space will make it easier for Suffolk Downs and Revere residents to socialize and could serve the area for generations to come.
For Most Boston residents when you mention Suffolk Downs the first thing that comes to mind is the historic rich track that has showcased some of the most famous thoroughbreds in racing track history. Names like Seabiscuit, Cigar, Whirlaway, John Henry and Skip Away are likely to trigger nostalgia to residents who are versed with the history of the area. However, most recently this area has come to the spotlight due to the modern developments being undertaken herein.
Located in East Boston and Revere along two MBTA Blue Line Stops, Suffolk Downs is one of the modern welcoming neighborhoods around the area. The real estate project which was acquired by HYM and its investors in 2017 was designed with a vision to create a residential hub that aligns with the modern ways of living and working. This vision has been consistent in the development of the area which has been reborn as a new Urban district with versatile and dynamic uses ranging from public open spaces, residential areas, neighborhood retail, and civic spaces.
Upon completion the Suffolk Downs urban district is expected to deliver 5.2 million square feet of office and life science space, 450 thousand square feet of retail space, 10,000 residential units, 400 thousand square feet of hotel space and over 40 acres of open space. The development project broke ground on the Revere side of the site and the first residential building Amaya was just recently completed. Currently the 475 units of the new residential block are available for leasing. Development is expected to continue in Boston Berm with a plan that considers both the residents' comfort and the sustainability of the development projects.
