City of Winthrop in Massachusetts

The city of Wintrop can be found in Suffolk County within the state of Massachusetts, and it is one of the smallest cities in the state. It only has a population of around 20,000, which makes it a wonderful place for people to live that enjoy living in a small community that is close enough to the big city for work or entertainment. This city is position just north of the Boston Harbor entrance. It was founded back in 1630 as a Puritan colony, and today, it is home of a community of friendly and welcoming people that enjoy the quiet life of the town that they have built up. There are a number of local businesses that keep the town economically stable, and it even has a quaint little newspaper to keeps everyone up on current events within the town.

This is one of the smallest cities within the Boston area, and it is secluded by the rivers of the area, and this makes it an extremely quiet and pleasant place to put down roots. The best thing about it is that even though the town itself is small and quiet, it is close enough to the city to keep people who enjoy active days and nights happy. If you choose to live in Winthrop, you will be pleased with the beautiful views of the Boston skyline in the distance without all of the noise from the actual city. There are a few different local shops and businesses that help to support the city economically. They have their own newspaper, the Winthrop Sun Transcript, and the town in actually divided into four main business areas. These four business areas are the Shirley Street Business District, the Highlands District, the Center, and Magee's Corner District.

You will be able to find just about anything that you are looking for within the city limits, and currently there are only four schools that cover the entire town. There are a few different day cares and preschools that you can choose from for your smaller children, but currently, there aren't any private schools in the town. Although the town is small, there are a lot of different beautiful apartment communities that you can rent from that will allow you to enjoy small town living, and there are a few different points of interests that locals cherish and enjoy on a regular basis. Winthrop Beach and Yirrell Beach are the residents' favorite beaches in the town, and there are a total of five places within Winthrop that have made it on the National Register of Historic Places list.
