Neighborhoods of the Community
The town has five neighborhoods. The following is a brief description of each:
Green Harbor/Cedar Crest
This neighborhood is in the southern edge of the community. It is the least-expensive area of town for real estate prices with a median price of $406,054. The southeastern part of the neighborhood borders Cape Cod Bay and includes the northern tip of Duxbury Beach.
Brant Rock/Ocean Bluff
This is the southeastern edge of town that borders the Atlantic Ocean. Real estate property in this area has been constructed mainly before 1969, and the median price is $457,505. This is the second-least expensive property area in town. It is also a neighborhood that has many seasonal residents with several homes serving as summer residences due to its location on the waterfront. Rexhame Beach is located in the northern part of this neighborhood.
Town Center
This neighborhood is located in the southwestern corner of the community. The town’s country club is in the middle of the neighborhood, with Wildlands Trust-Pudding Hill Reservation area in the northern edge.
Marshfield Hills
This section of town is located in the northeastern corner of the area. Rexhame Beach is located on its eastern side, and the South River and South River Marsh are on its southern border. The Rivermoor Habitat Park lies just north of this neighborhood, and the English Salt Marsh is in the northeastern area of this section.
North Marshfield/Standish
This is the northwestern area of the community. It is the most expensive area of town for real estate, with the median property price over 50% higher than the Green Harbor/Cedar Crest neighborhood. Several conservation areas are located in this neighborhood, such as the Oak Street Woodland, Wildlands Trust-Phillips Farm Preserve, Cornhill Woodland, and the Stetson Meadows.
Leasing Business Property
The business space available for lease in the town offers prospective tenants several options. Recently, seven properties have been listed on the market. These have ranged in price from an 800 square-foot space listed at $1200 a month to a 1,402 square-foot space listed for $1752 a month.
