Neighborhoods and Geographic Location
The town of Marshfield sits on 28.5 sq. miles of land and has eight distinct villages including the north, center, and hills villages. The other villages are Brant Rock, Fieldston, Green Harbor, Rexhame, and Ocean Bluff. The community is bordered by Norwell on the northwestern side, Scituate on the north and northeastern sides, Duxbury on the southeast and south, and Massachusetts Bay on the eastern side. Brockton is 18 miles away on the western side, and the town is only 29 miles from Boston.
The North River runs through the northernmost section of town. The South River is at the source of the north and runs through town. The Green Harbor River runs closest to the neighborhoods of Green Harbor Point and Brant Rock. The South River divides a peninsula from one section of the town, close to several Scituate neighborhoods. The Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary and North River Wildlife Sanctuary are just two of the conservation areas, along with a few small forests, that make up the scenic region. In addition to the conservation areas, the town boasts several green spaces and recreation areas that are open to the public.
