Neighborhoods and Geographic Location
Marblehead's total mass is a total of 19.6 square miles, which mostly consists of water. Only 4.4 square miles is land mass. the peninsula extends out into the bay. The land mass extends around the deep harbor. The famous lighthouse, Castle Rock, and Chandler Hovey Park are at the northern edge of the town on the peninsula. The area is also the habitat of a bird sanctuary. A portion of the land mass consists of small islands scattered around Massachusetts Bay, in Dolliber Cove. The islands are between Fort Sewall and Peaches Point.
The Forest River divides a portion of the community from Salem. The town's four beaches are on the south shore of the community, in the harbor, and in Dolliber Cove. The three villages in this community are Clifton toward the southwest, Old Town to the southeast, and the Neck. The center of town is approximately six miles from Downtown Salem, 16 miles to the northeast of Boston, and 12 miles to the southwest of Cape Ann. The borders are Swampscott on the south and Salem on the northwest side. There isn't any connection to this town and Beverly which is across Beverly Harbor, because the water rights granted to Salem extend out into Massachusetts Bay.

Buildings on Tioga Way offer an exceptional downtown location. One of the newer buildings that was built in 2002, offers professional suites with private offices for executives.
