It’s harder to find a more conveniently located and lovely community than this one. Not only is the area home to an international airport minutes from downtown Boston, it also boasts a surprisingly affordable housing stock, especially when those dwellings are purchased from the bank. The residential streets here are densely packed with three and four story homes. In some cases, apartment complexes dominate, and in others the homes are simply expansive. Large yards are not as common, although in some sectors of the city they can still be found. An apartment in this area tends to be located in a building with at least three other units, and boasts a spacious interior with a massive kitchen fit for preparing a multi-course meal for a table of eight guests. The decor schemes here tend to be inventive, with the bottom row of cabinets being a slightly different shade than the top row of cabinets. The decks on these homes are magnificent, and tend to wrap around the property. An owner can stroll from the front door to the side entrance to the back porch, all the while enjoying the sights and sounds of the outdoors. Many of these properties come with a basement, and some have attic spaces. The bathrooms are equipped with the latest in adjustable fixtures. The shower heads in particular tend to have numerous different settings, from jet-pulse streams to pressurized water to vigorous rinse cycles.
Geography
Located just east of Winthrop and south of Revere, this area of Boston is technically a peninsula, and is home to Logan International Airport. The city is crossed by Route 1A, Interstate 90, and Route 145, and boasts a fair number of green spaces for visitors to enjoy a picnic, take a quick jog, or otherwise survey the beauty of the city all around them. From Piers Park Sailing Center to the Memorial Park to LoPresti Park, this charming community is full of opportunities for enjoyable, low-key congregation. There are several localities contained within the region, including Harbor View/Orient Heights, Eagle Hill, Central Square, Central-Maverick Square, Jeffries Point, and the airport itself, which takes up most of the southeastern corner of the area. Ferry service is available to downtown Boston during the seasonal months, and subway service is available throughout the city.
