Bank Owned Properties

Because of its proximity to two major universities and one of the most bustling metropolitan regions in the country, this area has a fairly high average purchase price for its dwellings, with a range of $800 to $1,000 a square foot being average. Buyers who want to find the absolute best deals on bank owned properties should contact us for additional information on auctions and other purchasing opportunities.

The kitchens in this area are usually examples of high design and resplendent finishes, with appliances that are not only new, but equipped with a number of nearly irresistible features. Most of these features allow high degrees of customization. The refrigerator, for example, may have several settings that allow the owner to set their desired temperature and even a particular degree of humidity. This is handy for those residents who have a special gourmet diet, and need to refrigerate foods at specific temperatures to keep them fresh and ready for eating, such as a fleet of exquisite cheeses.

In addition to the appliances, the kitchens here are examples of some of the most innovative and mesmerizing tile work in the entire house, with the exception of the bathrooms, which usually go to great lengths to install inspiring and innovative mosaics and other tile arrangements. The tile in the kitchens is generally confined to the walls beneath the cabinets, although in some homes unusual tile arrangements can be found on the floor as well, with one or more colored squares creating a beautiful assortment of looks. Split-level homes with polished wooden risers on a small flight of stairs are common as well. These stairs are usually shaped to fit the particular junction of the split-level, and often are slightly curved or otherwise modified so that they do not need a banister.

Short Sales

Many of the single family homes in this community were built in the 1920s or even earlier, and as a result bear many historic details that are both charming and exquisite. The exteriors are often made out of red brick, or in some cases have a mixture of wood shaker style shingles and concrete or stone foundations. A covered patio is typical on the upper storey, and often can be enjoyed throughout the year, depending on how well insulated the porch is. In most contemporary remodels, the windows are triple-pane, and the rest of the porch is outfitted in rugged materials that keep the cold out during the winter while keeping it temperate during the summer months.

The interiors, especially the family or great rooms, are designed to be as accommodating as possible, welcoming a seamlessly endless array of furniture configurations. The fireplace tends to serve as the anchor point in the space, although in some homes this area is replaced by central air, and the room has no real fixed boundaries in terms of limiting inventive set-ups and unusual displays.

The kitchens here are usually old-fashioned in terms of being divided from the rest of the home. Instead of being featured prominently near the living space, the kitchen is usually tucked back into a corner of the home that overlooks the backyard. However, these kitchens are spacious, with two parallel counters creating ample opportunities for food preparation, snacks, and a relaxing place to fix a drink and unwind.
