The Brickworks condominium development is located at 316-320 Rindge Avenue in North Cambridge. It features 102 luxury units close to Alewife Station and Fresh Pond Mall and is a short drive to Harvard and MIT by car. Built in 2005, the Brickworks got its name from the New England Brick Company, which formerly used the land on which the development now stands. The development boasts 10 town homes and 92 single-level flats and includes one, two and three bedroom units with generous and well-designed floor plans.

Finishings and Amenities at The Brickworks

All units feature hardwood floors, in-unit laundry, central air conditioning and kitchens with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Architectural embellishments in various units include stunning bay windows, gables and picture windows. Patios and decks offer space to relax outdoors while garage parking and controlled access provide a secure and convenient living experience. Shared visitor parking is available for guests of residents. The Brickworks is professionally landscaped and managed.

Getting Around: Public Transit and Bike Paths

The Brickworks is a quick walk or drive to the Alewife T Station, the large and well appointed northern terminus of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Red Line. Alewife Station includes more than 2500 parking spaces in its multilevel garage as well as attractive public art displays, secure bicycle storage and an enclosed bus shelter for a number of MBTA bus routes. The station connects to the Minuteman Bikeway that runs to Bedford, MA, through Arlington and Lexington. Natural attractions along the bikeway include Alewife Brook Reservation, an urban state park featuring wetlands, wooded areas and meadows replete with migratory and indigenous birds. Spy Pond in Arlington and Arlington's Great Meadows, actually to be found in Lexington, add additional options for natural access from The Brickworks and Alewife. This area also offers access to the Fitchburg Cutoff Path that connects to nearby Belmont and to Linear Park, which runs through North Cambridge and across Massachusetts Avenue before connecting to the Somerville Community Path and hipster Davis Square.

The City of Cambridge itself is also bicycle friendly, and the Red Line includes stops at Davis, Porter, Harvard and Central Squares before reaching MIT at Kendall Square and crossing the Charles River into Boston. The Brickworks therefore offers a crossroads living experience where urban, suburban and natural environments are all easily accessible.

Getting Around by Car

The Brickworks offers easy access to the Route 2 Concord Turnpike heading west, to Route 3 north through Arlington and Winchester, and to Route 16 heading east to I-93 and beyond. Route 3 going south passes Fresh Pond Reservoir and Reservation before becoming Memorial Drive along the Cambridge side of the Charles River. The Brickworks also offers easy neighborhood street access to the shops at Huron Village, restaurants and businesses along Massachusetts Avenue, and all areas of the Harvard campus located just a few miles away. For those commuting to MIT by car, the drive is about four miles and offers easy access to Boston via the Longfellow Bridge.

Fresh Pond Mall: Whole Foods and Trader Joe's

What can be more convenient that having two major food chains in one area within a few minutes of your home at The Brickworks? This mall features one of the larger Whole Foods locations and sits next door to the well-stocked Cambridge Wine and Spirits while Trader Joe's is just across the street. Other handy stores include Staples, Olympia Sports and T.J. Maxx as well as Apple Cinemas just steps from The Brickworks. Massachusetts Avenue in North Cambridge and Arlington offers a wealth of other shopping and dining options including Pemberton Farms, another specialty supermarket with a full-service garden center featuring beautiful perennials, annuals, shrubs and indoor plants.
