Geographical Information

Located near the New Hampshire/Massachusetts state line, this city is bordered by the Merrimack River to the south, as well as the Massachusetts cities of Merrimac to the west, Newburyport to the south, and Salisbury to the east. Kensington, New Hampshire, borders the town to the north. Travelers who drive a car can reach the town via Interstate 495, Route 110, and Route 150. Aside from extensive bus service courtesy of the Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority, there is no other public transit located in the city. The kitchens are often designed in a galley style, or may occupy only one wall of the home. Granite countertops reflect the oak cabinets above, while a set of sliding glass doors sheds light on the tile flooring. The primary living area often has a fireplace that is surrounded by natural stone or granite, while the bedrooms boast special decorative features including built-in closets and special bay windows that create an ideal locale for a couch or other piece of furniture.

With a slew of different architectural styles available on the market, ranch style homes, colonial homes, and even Victorian-era dwellings that have been faithfully restored are available as bank owned properties. Generally speaking, the price for one of these is $200 a square foot, although there can be a variance depending on when the property goes up for auction.

Many of the homes are richly outfitted with the highest quality finishes and fixtures. The kitchens, for example, tend to be stuffed with stainless steel appliances, from the enormous refrigerators with ice-makers and separate temperature controlled sections to dishwashers that clean while making virtually no sound at all. The dining rooms are outfitted in varnished wooden floors, with expansive bay windows that provide a scenic view of the surrounding trees and meadows. Many kitchens have a small semi-formal workspace, which is perfect for storing bills and other knick-knacks. Specially designed wine cabinets and wine refrigerators also occasionally come with these houses.

The primary living area is almost always designed to accommodate as many different configurations as a homeowner can imagine, from L-shaped couches to clusters of overstuffed leather chairs to a variety of end tables. Fireplaces are almost always present in the great room, although in some homes there may be a fireplace in the master bedroom.
