Allston Neighborhood in Boston, Massachusetts

Allston is a beautiful neighborhood that is located in the western part of Boston, Massachusetts. It was named after Washington Allston, who was a wonderful American poet and painter. The Allston neighborhood often works alongside Brighton, which is an adjacent Boston neighborhood. Currently, there are only around 30,000 people that populate the Allston neighborhood. Of that population, it is largely made up of an immigrant population. There are a lot of immigrants from Russia, South Asia, South America, and East Asia. Although Allston is a neighborhood within the city of Boston, it is almost completely cut off from the majority of city by the small city of Brookline.

Allston is close to major Boston universities. For instance, the lower part of Harvard University is actually found within the Allston neighborhood, and it is where one can find Harvard Stadium and their Bright Hockey Center. Allston is also close to Boston College and Boston University.

Back in 1646, when Allston was first founded, it was actually known as Little Cambridge. When it comes to transportation, residents can enjoy using the Boston MBTA subway Green Line in order to commute to other parts of the city.
