According to recent reports and real estate filings, Cronin Holdings LLC of South Boston will be moving forward with plans to develop a 22-story, 110-unit luxury condo tower at 150 Seaport Boulevard in the Seaport District. Plans for the elegant glass structure have already been developed, and the design was created by South Boston architectural firm Elkus Manfredi Architects.
The building will have a twisted glass design that its developers say was inspired by the sea. If the firm's plans are approved, the tower will replace two popular waterfront eateries that are currently on the site: Atlantic Beer Garden and Whiskey Priest. The glimmering glass tower is slated to stretch 250 feet into the sky. It will consist of 263,000 square feet of space, which includes more than 12,000 square feet of retail and commercial space on the ground floor and second floor.
The upcoming condo development at 150 Seaport will also include an underground parking garage and a sprawling open-air deck. It joins a number of other new condo developments that have been spurring on the rapid growth of the Seaport District. The developer hopes to begin construction sometime in 2017, if all goes well in the approval department. If construction unfolds as planned, the development should be ready to go sometime in 2019.
Although it will be some time before this new condo tower is ready for buyers, Boston City Properties will keep you in the loop so that you can pounce when the time is right. Check back often for the latest news regarding the project at 150 Seaport Boulevard.
