Governor Deval Patrick proposed a plan to produce 10,000 multifamily homes a year through 2020. He hopes this effort will keep young professionals from leaving Massachusetts.
With Patrick's plan, there will be financial incentives for communities that build more at least eight homes per acre for multifamily homes and at least four units per acre for single-family homes.
